cleaning with a cause
A residential cleaning service employing women who have experienced domestic violence to foster financial independence
At Domestic Collective, we redefine cleaning services by interweaving purpose with every job performed.
Born from Anthea Strachan’s understanding of what the biggest constraints were in women leaving DV situations, to how she could eliminate these hurdles, her vision of a social enterprise designed to achieve this is a testament to her resilience and strength.
A Community Built on Shared Strength
We are more than a cleaning service – we are a lifeline. Rooted in the sobering reality that 27% of Australian women face domestic violence, we address the systemic barriers survivor's encounter. Financial dependency, often the invisible chain in abusive relationships, is dismantled through our employment-first approach. By prioritising stable work, emotional safety, and skill development, we create pathways for women to reclaim autonomy over their lives.
Our Blueprint for Change
Why "Cleaning with a Cause" Matters
The domestic sphere, often a site of trauma for survivors, becomes a space of transformation through our work. By entrusting us with your home, you join a movement that replaces cycles of harm with cycles of empowerment. Together, we prove that financial independence isn’t just an economic metric – it’s the foundation of dignity and freedom.
